The Earl of Impudence. One of my favorite recent illustrations, this was for the Ryan C. Thomas tale, The Earl of Imprudence, in my anthology “The Joke is on Mankind”,
The whole story had a very cosmic horror, Twilight Zone vibe, where researchers in an earth laboratory are transported to an alien planet hosting alien runes…with, as you can see, face-melting consequences….
