Dead Alive
For years, Evil Dead was my favorite movie. I even have it tattooed on my knuckles!
There were plenty of horror fans telling me that the new version of Sam Ramia was New Zealand’s Peter Jackson.
I eventually saw his movie, Bad Taste, and based on the strength of that, a year later I watched Brain Dead (later renamed Dead Alive for the US market).
It wasn’t quite as good as Evil Dead, but that lawnmower zombie scene is iconic.
I tattooed an image I drew up from that scene at a convention in Massachusetts.
