While I was at Deep Six, Paul Acker asked me to sketch character concepts for a horror movie by a new film company, Eye Sore Productions.
He also wanted a logo sketch for the new company.
The main character was a lobotomized slasher wearing a welding mask.
The crazed maniac saw a policeman as a real-life pig, a homeless guy as a giant bug, and an old lady, adorned with a partially skeletal face, as his mom.
He gave up on the film when he saw another slasher in the cinema wearing a welder’s mask.
I was doing the illustrations for my third novel, The End of the World, at the time, and this was an unfortunate, time-sucking side project.
It was a cool idea tho.
