This is the second year of The Dead Man’s Hand Tatto Expo, but the first-year owner Jeff asked me to help. We dived further into horror territory, getting the amazing Ricky Vitus, a graduate of the Tom Savini school and horror makeup artist on the FX show Faceoff, to put together and judge a whole monster makeup segment of the convention. I’ll be doing a seminar, a podcast, and acting as a judge. To get more illustrators and writers in, I’ve talked Jeff into offering $150 booths for artists and writers. There was a bit of early miscommunication. The tattoo booths filled up, but I wasn’t happy with the low number of authors and artists, so for this show only, I talked him into doing a half-price discount!
